Kinivo ZX100 Mini Portable Speaker

March 6, 2014 Eric

I’m a guy.  Us “guys” love our gadgets, just as any of our significant other(s) and they will surely speak upon our behalf I’m sure.  My wife is always asking or commenting or saying – “great, what now” or “geeh, whats that”.  Well I do love my electronic devices or “toys” as the other gender tends to call them but hey, you know you can’t lie.  You think their pretty cool too, and we get it, we get it…. You cannot ever admit that because admiting that is opening the flood gates to MORE GADGETS!!

As a pretty avid Amazon shopper and let me tell you having a PRIME account is a dangerous thing.  But yeah, as an Amazon shopper I was looking one day on how to make my iPhone (any phone / smartphone / music payer) louder when taking a shower.  Yes, I enjoy listening to music in the shower like most people I know.  The problem is that little iPhone speaker can only go / be so loud.  I found myself putting it in a higher place just to allow the sound to creep in over the top of the shower stall. Until my searches brought me upon this little gem of a speaker.  It is made by Kinivo, and it is one heck of a little find.  It’s a portable rechargeable (by usb) speaker.  Now I always look at Amazon reviews and generally they are always very helpful.  I noticed that some people say that its smaller then you think, and packs a bigger punch then expected.  Most every review had a great review for this product, and for a whopping $18.99 I just could not pass that up.  So I wanted to put this speaker to the TEST!

Got that package delivered and when I saw the box it came in and the size of it I chuckled.  It is rather smaller then one thinks.  I do not have huge hands and this thing fits in the palm of my hands.  It has good solid weight to it, you can tell its not cheaply made.  When I first turned it on and used it and cranked it up a bit I was a little shocked with the output of sound that this little thing delivered.  It comes with a headphone plug that you use to plug in into the phone.

The first night I used it in the bathroom I was extremely impressed with the sound.  As my wife came and closed the door because it was “too loud”.  All of this from this little speaker.  I am seriously impressed with the bass and clarity it puts out.  I would highly recommend this product, for any man, woman, kid, or child.  My only complaint as well as my wife’s complaint was that the buttons are hard to push in sometimes.  You almost have to use the very edge of the button to get it just right.

On a side note, for the more tech geeks you can hook multiple speakers in series with one another for a louder affect and sound.  To break it down for the “normal” people you can connect one speaker, to another, to another, to another, to another…..get the drift?  If you yourself have an amazon prime account you can get the product HERE

March 2020 Stay At Home Fun Guide & Calendar

March 15, 2020 By Andrea

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) shutting down schools and pretty much everything else, I took the time today to schedule out our kids school week as they will be out of school until at least May 27th.  If the schools are shut down longer then I'll add March 30th and start planning for April. I created a daily schedule(not posted here), a daily calendar of activities that we can follow, as well as a stay at home fun guide to make their time off more "summer camp" like.  Unlike holidays where … [Read More...]

The Perfect Gift For Bakers

December 14, 2017 By Andrea

As of last week we really hadn't done much of any Christmas shopping.  I know.  It's not that we haven't wanted to, but it's a year of minimalism and we've been trying to declutter and finish sorting through boxes in the basement from when we moved in 2 years ago. We both have the want to tackle the clutter and projects, but the list is never ending and when you have 4 kids and run a business there really is no such thing as "free time".  I'm sure you can relate.  As we're doing our shopping … [Read More...]

Personalized Place cards for Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner

December 7, 2017 By Andrea

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner this year and one thing that I definitely wanted to do was create individual place cards.  It's a great way to personalize place settings and avoid confusion as who will to sit where (in our case all the kids wanted to sit next to their Grandparents). I found a simple template online and then printed it on watercolor paper which I had to trim the edges off to be able to fit it into the printer.  The advantages of using watercolor paper is that it is thick enough … [Read More...]

What Do We Tell Our Children When Life Gets Difficult?

July 20, 2017 By Andrea

There's so much good and so much bad in the world it's so often hard to tell them apart. Like most adults I can tell quite a few stories that at the time they were the worst moments of my life. If there's one thing that every human being can relate to it is the constant struggles of life. Then inevitable ups and downs. The highest of highs and the lowest of lows. So what do we tell our children? You tell them this: "Please know that we are here for you. ALWAYS. There's never a time of night … [Read More...]
